If leaving the house feels impossible

I know this one. When I was housebound, the idea of going to A&E or a crisis centre felt as impossible as the crisis itself. If that's where you are:

  • Call or text from where you are. Samaritans (116 123) and Shout (text SHOUT to 85258) don't need you to leave the house.
  • Ask someone to make the call for you if you can't do it yourself. A family member, a friend, anyone.
  • Tell the person on the phone that you have agoraphobia and can't travel. They can arrange telephone or video support.

One call. One text. That's the only step right now.
